So, hurricane Katrina begins to pound LA....

Due to the already mounting death toll, and the billions upon billions of dollars in damages, I think this is definitely a world emergency, we have donated billions to less....So, I expect EVERY nation, especially the ones who complain incessantly about us and our lack of support for other international emergencies (which we donate more to every single one than all other nations combined), send us AID!!! food, shelter, doctors, and especially monetary...those who match in % to us what....UK did to the tsunami victims for example, will then be in our good graces and we will be pleased to tolerate any insults they have towards us and our relief spending and world policing....

I expect no foreign aid...in fact, I expect them to be laughing at us...and to them, I give the proverbial hypocracy award.

Thus begins week 3 of the vacation, which is not mine, scurrying betwixt random relations living quarters, and catering to their whims. Currently I’m in San Diego California, and working on uploading pictures. So, here is the story in a nutshell. After spending a day with my best friend and setting up camp, chopping up trees, and taking a brief jaunt. We decide to go check out a rock outcropping near the summit of Mt. Graham for the view. After a 30-minute drive we arrive there, only to have the forest engulfed in rain the moment we stepped out of the car. After realizing the hopelessness of the situation I got back in the car, and of course prayed vehemently for it to stop. We read a couple chapters out of a book and then noticed it had stopped, I didn’t get the sunset I wanted due to cloud cover, but I’ll take what I could get at this point, in the hopes that we didn’t slip and fall to our deaths due to the wet rocks. We climbed the hundred feet or so to the top of the rock outcropping in order to “get pictures.”

Once we finally got there out of breath, I handed Ashleah the camera and she delightedly started snapping away while I got down on one knee. After about 4 pictures of the surrounding countryside, and still completely oblivious to what was in my hand or my current state, she tried to take a snapshot of me sneakily and failed. At this point the coy belligerent nature came back as she was still oblivious, and wanted the camera back. She got one more picture off before I gave up and started proposing.

Needless to say the answer was yes, not that I haven’t known what the answer would be for the past 7+ months. This ring has been in the making since I bought the rock in February, and the ring was custom crafted around the rock per my design (In Solidworks, 3-D rendered and submitted to the jeweler). Which was finally completed a few days before I arrived in Tucson on the 25th.

One of the early initial renderings.

The ring in its case, taken on the 28th of July.

So yes, I’m engaged, bet you never thought that would happen.
